Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Watching television is bad for children. Use specific detail and examples to support your answer.
The adults often say that watching television cause a bad effect to children. But I dont think so. I content that television give children to have a good development in learning.
There are many interesting knowledge from watching television helping children to comprehend lesson in class faster. Nowadays there are many beneficial programs for children such as programs about agriculture, technology and environment. With these kind of programs, children can learn about how farmers cultivate vegetable and fruit, how inventor invent robots and how people in the world choose protect our environment. As a result, children will have more knowledge in various aspects that will useful for them to understand the lesson in class. For instance, in my country , there is a program about environment. It shows about the problem of the Earth environment and how people can protect our environment. Consequently, in environment class, children will enable to get the lesson very fast and can create activities about environment easily.
Furthermore, television is also a implement giving children to have more imagination. Many television programs nowadays use many graphic tools in the programs such as cartoon. How can cartoon programs give benefit to children? That might be the questions from many adults who think that cartoon only demonstrate nonsense and silly story. On the contrary, many cartoon stories give their children inspiration. There is one classic Japanese cartoon called DORAEMON. With the imagination of the story, it stimulates students in imagination as well.
Moreover, television is also a tool for children to learn about foreign language. In the present, there are many cable television channels that show in many languages. Children who interest in studying other language can choose which channel they would like to practice. As a consequent, by watching television can help them get used to with those languages. For example, in my country, there is a news channel performing in English. So, children can watch and listen to this channel and get an improvement on their language skills.
In conclusion, there are abundance of knowledge suitable and beneficial to children in many aspects. As long as parents aware of the benefits of television while helping their children to scan the programs appropriate for their ages, television will not bad for children at all. How can we deny the important of watching television?
