Class with Roberto
Yesterday it also had a special lecture from MIT Professor , Roberto. The topic is quite interesting.
What makes rich countries rich and poor countries poor: a guide for growth...
But it was more astounding when he gave the lecture with his styles.
Many factors to answer the questions in his topics including the fact that countries in tropical climate , mosqitoes in '1700, Luck, colonizer, quality of institutions, and factors accumulation.
The lecture was fun and worth to learn. We also discuss about why poor countries become rich as well. Countries like Singapore , Japan , or USA.
Those countries did not have any short cut. Those countries used more than 100 years to be rich.
One of the reason is about policy. They change very few policies however, they are flexible... to make it pragmatic. He also mentioned that politicians attached to objectives, not to policies. And the interesting is that those countries willing to try something new. Just like the entrepreneurship, ... dare to start and dare to fail and try it again. So they can accumulate factors such as Idea.
There are other factors but those factors need 'coordinating device' ..
Do you know what the difference between Citizen and Habitants? Do you know hte difference between commitment and involvement?
Yes. It is about People in the country..
Citizen will responsible for the society. Commitment will be more responsibility..
That's what we learn... but it was not the end. The thing is that what is the lesson learn for us.
He inspires young people like us to be citizen not habitants to be committed not to involved to be pragmatcis and not ideological at the same time and to be conviction and not convenient and to have ambitious objectives and be humble with result..
His ambitous to create CITIZEN in the world , his ambitious in helping poor people are very powerful. I think many of us learn from him a lot.
Let's be a citizen
