APPLICATION FOR RESIDENCE PERMIT FOR FOREIGN SPOUSE (FAMILY REUNION)
APPLICATION FOR RESIDENCE PERMIT FOR FOREIGN SPOUSE (FAMILY REUNION)
Please read the general information regarding Residence and Work Permit first.
A foreign spouse can apply for a residence permit in Denmark on the grounds of family reunion with her/his Danish spouse. The Danish spouse should, as a general rule, reside in Denmark. In connection with the processing of the application there may be certain requirements to be met with regards to housing standard, means of financial support, cohabitation at the same address, etc. For further information, please consult the Danish Immigration Service website.
Handing in the application:
2 application forms duly completed 2 Declaration of Integration forms (in Thai OR English) duly completed Passport 2 new colour photo (3.5 x 4.5 cm, the face must be 70 to 80 % of the photo, NO dark background). Marriage Certificate Name change document(s) if applicable Fee: See List of Consular Fees Notice: Be sure to read about "Enforced visa rules" under "Read more"
Please note that all Thai documents must be translated into either English or Danish. The Embassy would prefer if this was done through a translation agency recommended by the Embassy. The agency, that only translates into English, charges Baht 500,- per page. The translations are subsequently legalised by the Embassy for a fee.
The application will thereafter be sent to the Danish Immigration Service in Denmark for processing.
In the Embassy's experience, the Danish Immigration Service's processing time usually lies between 2-6 months, although this can vary greatly.
The foreign spouse will only be able to travel to Denmark when the residence permit has been granted. The Embassy will contact the applicant as soon as a decision has been received from the Danish Immigration Service.
