Wat Phrathat Jomkitti / Chiang - Rai
This Temple is located on northwest of Chiang – Saen city. Yon Chronicle says that Phra Ong Maha Thera presented 16 Buddha relics says that Phra Ong Pangkaratch, the Yonok kingdom’s ruler. The ruler shard some of the relics and built a chedi at the area. The chedi was titled “Doi Jomkitti”.
Wat pa sak The Chronicle said that Phaya Saen Phu, the 3rd kind of Lanna’s Mangrai dynadty ordered his people to build the emple in 1838 BC to shelter the Buddha relics which was brought from Patariputra, India. The king also ordered 300 teak trees to be growing surround wall. So the temple was named “Wat Pa Sak”
