I want to thank friends for the good time at the Haad Chao Samran Beach. It was great to see most everybody again. My family and I are very happy and touched by the warm friendship, kindness and the help with the transportation provided. We are very grateful.
Dear friend Singhto, Pi Sak (Archan Somsak), Pi Usa and all family members,
I just learn now that your mother has been in peace recently. I am deeply sorry that I can not attend the funeral because of the distance.
I am praying with respect to the Lord Buddha to inspire you and all of your family members to recover from sorrow due to the loss, and go on with strength and happiness.
I always remember you, Khun Singhto and Pi U-Sa ( your elder sister who was in the same class as my elder sister at Wat Khun Nguen school). Pi Sak taught Agricultural class for boys at Suansri. Pi U-Sa was one of the greatest chair-ball player from the elementary school. I always remember her.
I am not sure if you would get my messages here. I would appreciate if anyone who reads this blog and knows Singhto's address, would be kind to let me know at Vanchartpra@hotmail.com. then, at least, I can send Singhto a letter. Thanks so much.
How are you? It is good to talk to you again and I know you've been with us everyday. I am doing fine, just getting back from Thailand few days ago and trying to adjust myself back to the normal routine. Are you going to Thailand in the next few months? Have a great time ka!
Thanks for your messages. I'm glad to hear from you. Did you have fun in Thailand? Actually, I'm pretty hectic with my job here and so on. I stay very late every night. I rarely can go to bed before 1 am.
Yes, I plan to go back home in BKK in August for my mom's birthday. Also, I might be able to see a few friends in Launsuan, Surat, and Nakorn Sri. Let's see! I really like the south of Thailand and I plan to look for something to do to keep me busy before I'm retired from here in next a few years.
Take care yourself.
Regards,
VP.

I had a great time in Thailand despite the curfew and the political difficulty. My husband's flight on May 16th was canceled (due to the tornado warning) and it was rescheduled to arrive at 11:15 pm on May 19th. The Bangkok curfew started on May 19 at 8:00 pm - 6:00 am. At around 4:45 pm, I left for the airport. The traffic jam was so heavy and everybody was frantically leaving for home to beat the curfew. I thought in my mind, 'Am I going to make it?' Because the taxi driver seemed reluctant to take me there. Complaining and griping about the possibility of not getting back on time and being fined by police. 'What if he tells me to get out of his cab', I thought. But it was fortunately I made it there at 6:00 pm. Though my husband's flight was delayed, he arrived at midnight. We stayed at the resort hotel near the airport. Now it may sound like a fun adventure but it was a bit scary at time.
It was great to see friends at the beach and the time we spent together is priceless. It will be in my memory for a long time. I started to feel homesick days before leaving for the US. Despite the political instability, Thailand is a unique place like no others. The charm and friendliness of Thais are truly sincere and innocent. It'll be a great choice of place for retirement. I, too, thought about retiring there after coming back from the reunion last year. First, I thought at the srinakarind dam, Srisawat district in Kanchana Buri, there is beautiful scenery with mountainous green forest. As time goes by, I started to change my mind because I don't want to look at the mountain all day long. I will want to be in the city sometime. Maybe I'll go south. The beach sounds better. Oh well, I have more years to think about it yet.
I understand your busy working life. It is tough to go to bed past 1 am. I hope you'll eventually find more time to rest and get lots of sleep as best as you can.
I am truly sorry for your loss. The Lord Buddha, Phra Dhamma, and Phra Sangha are always with you and your family. They also strengthen your spirit, soul and physical health to be in naturally neutrality as we have learned as Buddhists.
For years and years, I have never forgotten about you. I remember you as a sweet young woman but serious student. Sometimes, you were emotional when you talked about yourself and family. I was always sympathetic about you. I also remember that you came from Ampaer Patew before entering Suansri school. And you were the top first among girls for the entry.
Now, I want to know where you are and how you are doing. If you get this messages, please kindly let us know about you and your contacts. We are always looking forwards to seeing you.
Are you trying to deceive me to tell people about something terrible? You know that the boy # 5940 is, most of the times, very nice and gentle ( HA, HA. HA).
I can not be fooled by Khun Ying Gai 100%.

One thing that people do spontaneously when they see each others after years and years is to compare what they remember in the past and what they learn at that moment about others.
Here is a story about two close friends who were in the same class since they were in 5th grade. Both of them were champions academically and athletically. After missing each others for 35 years, they came back as middle-aged men, running into each others and hugging for a moment, just like kids.
The following series of conversations are real for their content, but for wordings, may not be exactly of what the writer remembers. I would like to identify the two close friends as a TAN BOY, and, a WHITE BOY.
In 2514, both boys graduated from a local elementary school. One day, as they prepared to take an entrace exam for Suan Sri school, they walked to Chinese school lane in Ta-Lard Lang Suan towards Lang Suan river for swimming. But, before jumping into the river, they looked around. There were no one else in the area, only both of them alone. They decided to remove their Pa Kaw Ma, just plain naked. The boys then looked at each others and started to scrutinize for their curiosity about manhood.
Tan boy: Look at this! I have little hair now.
White boy: Oh Yeh! but I do not have one yet.
Tan boy: You will have one soon and it gets bigger too.
White boy: Then, what you do about it?
Tan boy: I become a man now. It's so good.
White boy: ( silent-thinking about his future thing)
Tan boy: Mine is bigger than yours now.
White boy: Oh Yeh! (sad-looking at his baby one)
Tan boy changed the subject: Did you read a lot for the exam to Suan Sri?
White boy: (sad): No, I do not care any more.
Tan boy: Why? ( really caring for friend)
White boy: ( almost cry) I want to go to Suan Kularb school in stead, but no one takes me to Bangkok.
Tan boy: I want to continue playing football and I have to do well for the exam. What percentage did you get from the elementary school exit? I got 82%.
White boy: (reluctant to answer) Not much! The final exam was damn-tough! I did not do well.
Tan boy: How much?
White boy: (soft voice) only 86%
Tan boy: You got more than mine.
White boy: Umm... just like the same.
Both boys then, jumped into the river naked with shrinken-swinging manhood things. They swam across the river (Fai- Ta), but stayed in the water near the river bank for a while. Then, swam back to the same place to put clothes on.
In 2552, thirty-eight years later, the white boy who is now a middle-aged man found the tan boy phone numbers from Suan Sri 2517 web blog. He suddenly had flashback to his childhood memmories. The phone call was made to the Tan boy (who is now a high ranking professinal man). They made arrangement to see each others along with a few other friends.
Here is the two close friends private conversations during the trip. To be continued for next blog visit. (Do not miss out this novel! The writer actually spent time to make some contribution to the blog for entertainment purpose only.)

My note was just a reminder of what happened on 24 June 2475, 78 years ago in our mother land that has to be recorded properly in our national history.
I have to write it short for now due to timing. I need to go to a Thai temple in next a few minutes.
Khun Ying Gai : I understand an implication of your story about women's equal right. However, Thai culture and society have been used to with having men as leaders and more authority. Things change as time goes by. Good job!
Take Care,
Vanchart ( Thai National Day)

Happy Birthday to Khun Vanchart...(are you turning 25?) May all the great health, wealth, success and lots of love be with you forever. Have a good one!
Thank you so very much for all good wishes for The Thai National Day ( 24 June 2475). Fortunately, I was born on June 24,. You were right. How did you know that?
I went to a temple in Long Island, New York for my birthday and a demarcation ceremony for a new temple building. There were also about 300 Bhikkus from all over the USA, other countries in Europe, Scandinavia, and Thailand came to participate in the ceremony for 4 days from June 24 to 27.
I made all good wishes for all friends during the ceremony. Please accept the good wishes I made for you. As well, I e-mailed some pictures from the temple and my recent summer time to "O" and "K.Y. Gai". I wish I have all friends' email addresses for sharing all good things with all of you.
Friends are always take good care of friends. Frienfship will last forever.
