This full flight sim CSTS Dinamika developed in cooperation with the Central Aerohydrodynamics Institute (TsAGI), RAC MiG, and GosNIIAS on the order of the Myanmar Air Force. This sim serves to train pilots both in piloting procedures and combat missions and to help them acquire skills in handling cockpit equipment:
- pre-flight procedures and availability check;
- engine start, cold run, and warming;
- taxiing, driving to initial takeoff position pursuant to different takeoff run distance;
- takeoff from the concrete runway;
- en-route flying at different weather conditions using the integrated flight & navigation system;
- aerobatics;
- interaction with the ground remote controller;
- day & night landing approach and landing;
- duplicate instrument flying;
- emergency procedures throughout the flight envelope;
- air target intercept at short-range and long-range combat missions;
- close-in aerial combat with helmet target designator and missiles launching;
- weapons control system operation, aiming and hitting ground/sea targets, visualization of firing standard weapons.
Innovative computer technologies enabled us to optimize simulator architecture and reduce its equipment drastically. Now it comprises the following modules:
- cockpit;
- power unit;
- computer complex;
- image generator;
- instructor operation station;
- oil pump;
- part-task trainer.
The simulator cockpit is the real fighter nose section equipped with a full set of instruments, control levers, panels and indicators and a standard mechanical controls loading.
Visual system:
- the out-of-cockpit visual system consists of powerful IBM-compatible computers and GeForce graphical accelerators (1248x1024 in resolution, update rate of 30 fps);
- six projectors, 3D-perception blending unit, a cylinder tightening screen and dedicated software enable a seamless continuous field of view of 120ºH x 60ºV in all the six channels.
The central channel head-up display is a geometry and informative replica of the standard head-up display. A specialized SW and careful adjustment of the helmet target designator allow the head-up display to operate realistically in the simulator environment.
The part-task trainer serves for the initial pilots training independent of the full flight simulator and for the twin flight simulation.
The part-task trainer comprises the following modules:
- console;
- instrument panel and environments displays;
- two-computer complex.
In order to verify and elaborate the dynamics software and ensure perfect simulation fidelity we employed pilots of the RF Navy, Air Force, The Flight Research Institute, and the RAC MiG. Eventually they approved the adequacy of the simulator dynamics model to the real fighter flight dynamics. Besides they confirmed realism of the weaponry model and highly appraised the visualization. The MiG-29 sim offers training in multiple combat missions and the entire flight envelope including spin and stall conditions.
The MiG-29 simulator successfully passed state testing of the Air Force State Flight Test Centre (GLITs is its adopted Russian abbreviation).
A replica of this simulator has been delivered to the Training Centre of the MiG Russian Aircraft Corporation.
Power consumption: appr. 20 kWt, with the power unit connected to the mains of the Customers premises (50Hz, 220 V, 380V).
