*Formal style declarative sentence - final verb ending.
*When the verb stem ends in a vowel, use -ㅂ니다.
When the verb stem ends in a consonant, use -습니다.

가다 to go
가 + ㅂ 니다 ------------------> 갑니다
(verb stem) (declartive final ending)

오다 to come
오 + ㅂ니다 -------------------> 옵니다

2. Vst ㅂ/ 습니까?

* Formal style interrogative sentence-final verb ending.
* When the verb stem ends in a vowel, use -ㅂ니까?
When the verb stem ends in consonant, use -습니까?

가다 to go
가 + ㅂ 니까? ------------------> 갑니까?

*The intonation rises at the end of -ㅂ니까/습니까? if the question is a yes-no question(i.e. if there is no question word in the sentence). In sentences which contain a question word ( who? what? when? why? how?), the intonation does not rise with this ending: instead it either remains steady or even falls a bit at end

미국 사람입니까? /' Are you an American?
책이 있습니까? /' Do you have a book?
이름이 무엇입니까? /, What is your name?
어디에 가십니까? /, Where are you going?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. N 이다

*Unlike action verbs or descriptive verbs(i.e. adjectives), which can stand independently at the end of the sentence, the copula - 이다 attaches to noun and functions like a verb. It is used to indicate the identity of a subject and predicate,or to designate an object or thing

이것이 책상입니다. ----------------This is a desk.
저는 학생입니다. -----------------I am a student.
이 아이가 제 딸입니다.--------------This child is my daughter.
여기가 우리집입니다.----------------This is our houre.
그 분은 의사입니다.------------------That person is a doctor.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. N 이/ 가 아니다

*The negative of the copula - 이다 is -이/가 아니다. The structure of such a sentence consists of a subject and a verb clause, where -이/가 아니다 is the verb clause. When the noun ends in a consonant, the particle '이' is used, and when the noun ends in a vowel the particle '가' is used.

나는 학생이 아닙니다.---------------I'm not a student.
이것은 우리집이 아닙니다.-----------This is not our house.
이 아이는 제 딸이 아닙니다.------------This child is not my daughter
여기는 국제 우체국이 아닙니다.---------This is not the international
pos office.
저 분은 우리 어머니가 아닙니다. -----That person is not my mother.

How to greet in Korea

Koreans usually bow their heads politely when they meet their elders who they know from school, place of work, neighborhood etc.

When bowing, you have to bend your back a little and look down so as not to meet the other person's eyes. Between people that know each other well or with friends, one normally greets with a casual hand wave. Try greeting your classmates as the picture below shows.
