วินัยชาวพุทธ --> หมวดหนึ่ง วางฐานชีวิตให้มั่น --> กฎ 3 : รักษาความสัมพันธ์ 6 ทิศ --> ก. ทำทุกทิศให้เกษมสันต์ --> ทิศที่ 3
ทิศที่ 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

ทิศที่ 3 ในฐานะที่เป็นสามี พึงให้เกียรติบำรุงภรรยา ผู้เปรียบเสมือนทิศเบื้องหลัง ดังนี้

1. ยกย่องให้เกียรติสมฐานะที่เป็นภรรยา
2. ไม่ดูหมิ่น
3. ไม่นอกใจ
4. มอบความเป็นใหญ่ในงานบ้าน
5. หาเครื่องแต่งตัวมาให้เป็นของขวัญตามโอกาส

ภรรยาอนุเคราะห์สามี ตามหลักปฏิบัติดังนี้

1. จัดงานบ้านให้เรียบร้อย
2. สงเคราะห์ญาติมิตรทั้งสองฝ่ายด้วยดี
3. ไม่นอกใจ
4. รักษาทรัพย์สมบัติที่หามาได้
5. ขยัน ช่างจัดช่างทำ เอางานทุกอย่าง

3rd direction: As a husband, one should honor and support one’s wife, who is likened to the “rearward direction,” as follows:

1. One honors her in accordance with her status as wife.
2. One does not look down on her.
3. One does not commit adultery.
4. One gives her control of household concerns.
5. One gives her occasional gifts of ornaments and clothing.

A wife supports her husband by:

1. Keeping the household tidy.
2. Helping the relatives and friends of both sides.
3. Not committing adultery.
4. Safeguarding any wealth that has been acquired.
5. Being diligent in all her work.
