ว่ากันว่า สิ่งดีๆ มักเริ่มต้นด้วยเสียงเพลง เช่นเดียวกับแคมเปญร่วมกันหยุดยั้งการแพร่กระจายของไวรัส “อีโบล่า” โดย Band Aid ซึ่งก่อตั้งโดยนักร้องและนักแต่งเพลงชาวไอริชและชาวอังกฤษมากมาย ซึ่งแกนนำคนสำคัญได้แก่ ศิลปินผู้เป็นตำนาน ได้แก่ Sir Bob Geldof และ Midge Ure

ทั้งนี้ Sir Bob Geldof และ Midge Ure ได้ร่วมกันแต่งเพลง “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” ซึ่งเคยถูกใช้มาแล้วเมื่อ 30 ปีก่อน โดยเป็นการร่วมกันก่อตั้งกองทุนเพื่อช่วยเหลือเหยื่อผู้หญิงจาก ปัญหาความอดอยากในเอธิโอเปีย เมื่อปี 1984

มาวันนี้ทั้งสองคนได้เชิญชวนศิลปินทั้งรุ่นใหม่และรุ่นเก๋าอีกหลายคนมาร่วมแคมเปญดีๆกันอีกครั้ง เพื่อหยุดยั้งการแพร่กระจายของเชื้อไวรัสอีโบล่าและร่วมกันบริจาคเงินเพื่อช่วยเหลือเหยื่อผู้เคราะห์ร้าย ภายใต้ชื่อว่า Band Aid 30 – Do They Know It’s Christmas? โดยเรียกร้องให้ช่วยกันซื้อเพลงเพื่อนำรายได้ไปต่อสู่กับโรคอีโบล่า ตาคำขวัญที่ว่า “Buy the song Stop the virus” พร้อมกับติดแฮชแท็กคว่า#BandAid30 เพื่อเป็นการเผยแพร่โครงการอีกด้วยโดยเพลง Do They Know It’s Christmas? จะเปิดจำหน่ายทั้ง iTunes (po.st/DoTheyKnow) และ Google Play (po.st/DoTheyKnowGp)แล้วยังสามารถบริจาคผ่านออนไลน์ได้ที่ bandaid30.com/donate
