The 2nd Golf Lesson from David Nevogt and Bobby Eldridge, Golf Swing Guru.

The topic is Set-Up (your posture at address)

[Source: http://www.PerfectConnectionGolfSwing.com]

Hi -
Today's lesson reveals how to execute the proper Set-Up (your posture at address). This is one place where even a lot of seasoned PGA Pros make mistakes...

So there's a good chance YOU may be making a few of these "classic blunders", too.

But you never will again, after you learn the secrets in today’s free video.

Here’s to getting greater distance and pinpoint accuracy … from a safer swing!

Hi, I’m CJ Goecks.

And welcome to today’s lesson, featuring another of my “Common Swing Faults” and how to fix it.

I recommend you should bookmark these lessons so you can refer back to them whenever you need to. And, as I mentioned in the e-mail I sent you, these videos should be watched in order, from Day 1 through Day 10 because they build on each other.

Today, along with my student Pete Hayan, we’re going to take a look at the Set-Up – some common problems I see all the time … AND how to fix them FAST!

Why is your set-up so important?

Because if you make any mistakes here, you’ll be making “corrections” – or trying to, at least – all through the rest of your swing! And doing so is bound to result in loss of speed, power, and control. (In addition to quite often setting you up for injury.)

In the same respect, getting your set-up nailed down will automatically eliminate a lot of those problems you may be having with your swing already.

Let’s start with the proper stance, and work out way up. Your feet should be about shoulder width apart … but NOT squared-up (that is, both pointed straight ahead). Just let your toes point out a little – the way you normally stand.

Next, place your arms straight out in front, at chest height, holding your club upright, and bend your knees just to the point where you can no longer see your shoe laces.

Now lower your arms until they are snug against the sides of your chest, and bend forward at the hips and lower back, not along the length of your spine, until your club is resting on the ground. (This is easier to see on the video, of course.)

Now here’s where the Perfect Connection set-up differs from mainstream instruction:

I want you to lower your right hip until the distance from right hip to right shoulder is the same as that from left hip to left shoulder. We do this because, with your right hand being lower on the club shaft, your right shoulder has to be lower.

Lowering your right hip to match your shoulder aligns your joints naturally, and eliminates the spine curvature most golfers have before even beginning their take-away. This one little secret can save you a lot of lower back pain.

And this unique, yet natural, posture – what we call the “Athletic Position” – sets you up for success with the Perfect Connection take-away and backswing.

That’s where we’re going next, so watch for tomorrow’s Mini-Clinic Lesson lesson.
