Marry: I met a guy.
เราเจอผู้ชายคนหนึ่ง

Nort: Uhh... You met a guyyy...( I am trying my best to keep my tone exactly like the first time I heard this sentence from her)
โอ้ะ เธอเจอผู้ชายยยยย (พยายามทำเสียงตื่นเต้นคะ ถึงแม้นี่จะไม่ใช่ครั้งแรกที่ได้ยินจากปากแมรี่ เรื่องผู้ชายคนใหม่)

Marry: Right. I really do like him. We went out for a dinner. It was totally awesome. We shared a bill, well it's kind of ok for me since I want to pay too. Then I asked him to see a late night movie with me. He said he can't coz he has an important presentation next morning. He will call me tomorrow. We had a good bye kiss and I went home.

Nort: Did he call you? (I have my sense that he didnt)

Marry: That's the thing. (Ohh.. here's the thing) The dinner I m telling you about it's one month ago. (I wonder now what she wants to ask me, all things to me are so clear.)
ก็เรื่องนี้แหละจ๊ะ (โอ้ะ เรื่องนี้นี่เอง) อาหารมื้อนั้นที่ฉันเล่าให้เธอฟังมันเกิดขึ้นเมื่อเดือนที่แล้วจ๊ะ (ชักเริ่มสงสัย ว่าเพื่อนจะถามอะไร ทุกสิ่งดูเข้าใจง่ายออก)

Marry: Look, Nort. I dont get it why he didnt call me. Today I got an email from him asking how I am.
ฉันไม่เข้าใจเลยว่าทำไมเค้าไม่โทรมา วันนี้ฉันได้อีเมลล์จากเค้าถามว่าฉันเป็นไงบ้าง

Nort: So did he mention why he didnt call you?
แล้ว เค้าบอกในเมลล์รึเปล่า ทำไมเค้าไม่โทรมา

Marry: No, He didnt. That's why I am kind of confuse. (Uhh.. What she confuses, I wonder. I think confused is the wrong word, coz she's too smart for that. She's hopeful, not confused.)
ไม่จ๊ะ เค้าไม่ได้บอก เลยทำให้ฉันสับสน ( อืมมม..แมรี่สับสนอะไรอ่ะ งงจัง น๊อตว่าใช้คำว่าสับสนนี่ไม่ถูกต้องหรอก แมรี่ฉลาดเกินไปที่จะไม่เข้าใจเรื่องนี้ แมรี่แค่มีความหวัง แต่ไม่ได้ สับสน)

Nort: Sounds like he's just not that into you! (this sentence I got from Liz Tuccillo and Greg Behrendt's book.)
ฟังดูแล้ว เหมือนว่าเค้า ไม่ได้ชอบเธอขนาดนั้นนะจ๊ะ

Marry: How'd you know?
เธอรู้ได้ไง

Nort: Well, ... every guys know how to dial numbers, Marry.
ก็ ผู้ชายทุกคน รู้จักวิธีกดตัวเลขบนโทรศัพท์จ๊ะ

Marry: Butt..but he might be very busy.
แต่ แต่... เขาอาจจะยุ่งมากๆก็ได้นะ

Nort: One minute phone call won't ruin his entire career.
1 นาที ในการโทรหาเธอ ไม่ได้ทำให้งานเค้าพังได้หรอกจ๊ะ

Marry: What if, he got an emergency meeting in Timbukto where he can't find any public phone to ring...(Oh, that sounds like reality to me)
หรือเค้าอาจจะมีประชุมฉุกเฉินที่ ทิมบัคทู แล้วหาโทรศัพท์สาธารณะที่จะโทรมาไม่ได้ (แหมมม.. ฟังดูเป็นไปได้เสียจริงๆ)

Nort: If that's the case, I think Mr. "Can't Remember To Call" needs to mention in that e-mail he just sent to you.
ถ้าเป็นแบบที่เธอว่า นาย"ลืมที่จะโทรมา" คนนี้ก็น่าจะเขียนบอกอะไรเธอบ้างในอีเมลล์ที่เค้าส่งให้เธอนะ

Marry: Maybe he's scared to approach me.
บางที เค้าอาจจะไม่กล้าพอที่จะเข้าหาฉัน

Nort: Wake up, Marry!
ตื่นเถอะ แมรี่

Marry: I really like him. He's like my dream man.
ฉันชอบเค้ามากๆนะ เค้าเหมือนผู้ชายในฝันของฉันเลย

Nort: He's just not that into you. Obviously, not now! In the meantime, he may be will. .... That dude didnt call you when he says he will, or making sure you know he's dating you, then you already have your answer. Stop making EXCUSES for him. His actions are yelling you the truth.
เค้าก็แค่ไม่ได้ชอบเธอขนาดนั้นเท่านั้นเองจ๊ะ ที่แน่ๆ ตอนนี้เค้าไม่ได้อินอะไรมากมาย สักพักหนึ่งเขาอาจจะเริ่ม อิน ก็ได้ ผู้ชายเค้าไม่ได้โทรหาเธอ เวลาเค้าบอกว่าเค้าจะโทรกลับ หรือ ไม่ได้ทำให้เธอรู้สึกว่าเธอกับเค้าเดทกันอยู่ เธอก็น่าจะได้คำตอบแล้วนะ เลิกหาข้อแก้ตัวให้เค้าได้แล้ว พฤติกรรมเค้าตะโกนบอกความจริงเธออยู่จ๊ะ
