ความจริงของกองหน้า Man U. 4 คน มูลค่า 65 ล้านปอนด์ กะ Henry หนึ่งเดียว
Not that the nondescript midfielder should shoulder all the blame. For the third time in four games, Manchester United's £65 million strike force drew a blank. The combined tally for Van Nistelrooy, Rooney, Louis Saha and Alan Smith in the Premiership stands at 20, less than Thierry Henry's contribution to Arsenal and just two more than Crystal Palace's Andy Johnson has managed.

United in failure again?
by Norman Hubbard
'We should be fearing for our places,' admitted a typically blunt Gary Neville after Manchester United lost 2-0 at Norwich.
An uncharacteristically mute Sir Alex Ferguson said nothing. He has been known to boycott various sections of the media in the past. Few expected that to include MUTV, the club's own television station.
It may have spared some players a public tongue-lashing. Privately, it won't have done even if, increasingly, the criticisms of the elder Neville and Roy Keane appear more telling than those of their manager. The captain sat out the debacle at Carrow Road. In his absence, the performance was as complacent as the team selection.
With Keane one caution away from a two-match ban that would have ruled him out of the FA Cup semi-final, his omission was understandable. But the sight of the three Rs - Rooney, Ronaldo and Ruud - on the bench suggested Ferguson underestimated Norwich.
There were precedents. Last season, United contrived to lose at Wolves, then making a rapid return to the Football League. Last month, Ferguson fielded a weakened team at Crystal Palace and escaped with a 0-0 draw. Last week, Blackburn stifled United at Old Trafford in another stalemate.
And :-), Paul Scholes apart, it was a second-string midfield and attack that turned in an insipid performance at Norwich. A squad system is only as good as the squad players; with those at his disposal, resting players is a luxury Ferguson can ill afford. The shameful failure to beat Exeter at the first time of asking was conclusive proof of Liam Miller's unsuitability as a Manchester United player.
On Saturday, Ferguson turned to another of his most-maligned midfielders. In Kleberson, Brazil has finally exacted revenge for three decades of Ronnie Biggs.
Still more damning for the misfiring quartet are the statistics from Spain; Diego Forlan, with 18 goals, is almost outscoring them. However, it is still hard to imagine that the Uruguayan would be the answer to United's dearth of goals.
They have only 48 in the Premiership; unless they can score 16 times in their remaining six matches, an unwelcome club record beckons.
Van Nistelrooy was rushed back to face Milan, two more games United failed to score in. More than a month on, the Dutchman looks no sharper. The injury-hit Saha has had a stop-start and goalless season, but last summer's signings appear to have relegated him to fourth choice. Smith is unstinting in his snarling graft, but goal droughts have punctuated his career.
At Norwich, each could plead a lack of service as a mitigating factor. Rooney, who has the capacity to create his own chances, tried to rouse United single-handedly, but his aggression remains unchannelled.
A rash challenge on Thomas Helveg led to the free kick for Dean Ashton's opening goal.
But in a spineless showing, Rooney provided one exception. And, despite Smith's encouraging start, he is the only United forward to have a season to savour.
Indeed, that makes him a comparative rarity at Old Trafford; perhaps only Keane, Gary Neville, Rio Ferdinand, Ryan Giggs and Gabriel Heinze will have fond memories of their own efforts in the current campaign.
And what of the most decorated manager of his generation? Ferguson may have peaked in 1994, 1996 or 1999; he has not in 2005. He may insist, for the second successive year, that winning the FA Cup represents a successful season, but after eight Premiership titles and one Champions League crown, it reeks of a consolation prize.
But his authority has been undermined by his decisions. The costly nepotism of employing brother Martin Ferguson to scout players contributes to a lack of strength in depth.
Left-field selections - John O'Shea in midfield, Quinton Fortune on the left flank, Smith out of position and his matchwinners on the bench - can backfire. He is vocal in his admiration for the rare gifts of Scholes; getting the reticent midfielder to display them on a regular basis is eluding Ferguson.
And whereas Liverpool, with lesser players, were refreshingly fearless against Juventus, United made a tame exit from the Champions League.
In that context, Premiership doubles over Liverpool and Arsenal - and maintaining a psychological edge over Arsene Wenger - provide the highlights of his season.
Victory against Nigel Worthington would not bring the same affirmation of his powers. But, while managerial dotage often involves comparisons of boxers in their final fights, here is a cricketing comparison.
Domestically, anyway, Ferguson can still hook the fast bowlers off his nose, but gets out to innocuous medium-pacers.
And after resting Keane to prepare for the semi-final against Newcastle, it is imperative for Ferguson that there is no repeat of the dismal display at Norwich.
With Arsenal, now holding the advantage in the battle for second place in the Premiership, possible opponents in the final and the chance of another bitter rematch with Wenger, the FA Cup is assuming ever more importance for Manchester United and Sir Alex Ferguson.
