States Right to Refuse Obamas Call to Raise Dropout Age
States Right to Refuse Obamas Call to Raise Dropout Age COMMENTARY | According to the Associated Press, President Barack Obamas request to states to raise the dropout age to 18 has been widely refused, with states claiming there isnt the money to pay for the resources to keep discontent students on track. Since the president began raising the issue in January, only Maryland has left the ranks of the 29 that allow students to drop out when younger than 18. Thirteen states have considered legislation to raise dropout ages this year, but the initiatives have been largely unsuccessful. //news.yahoo.com/states-refuse-obamas-call-raise-dropout-age-220600633.html
