The stunning contestants from Miss World 2015 were treated to a day of total luxury as they were taken on a private tour and exhibition of the world’s most incredible yachts at the 2015 China Rendezvous Sanya Sea Festival.

As soon as the contestants heard they were going to be mingling with the world’s most influential people, they couldn’t help but express their excitement. I caught Miss Moldova, Miss Georgia, and Miss Iceland taking selfies all the way to the festival!

Sanya Sea Festival - China Rendezvous official opening

The contestants began their day with an opening ceremony organized by the China Rendezvous in which they witnessed the unveiling of the Blue Project – a unique initiative dedicated to promoting ocean protection and conservation. The opening ceremony also marked the first time the ladies were publicly introduced to the eyes of the global media, where hundreds of press turned up just to get a glimpse of the contestants.

After the ceremony, we caught up with the lovely Misses Zambia, South Sudan, Uganda, and Zimbabwe, all of whom who had never left Africa, and asked their opinions of being exposed to the limelight for the first time. Miss Uganda said she had never experienced that much press and was overwhelmed but enjoyed every minute!

Miss Zambia also shared similar views with the China Rendezvous organization on the importance of water conservation:

“Today was an amazing experience because I got to learn from the experts in sustainability and we need to be reminded that we are not the last generation and we must be considerate for our children. I come from a landlocked country so I know clean and plentiful water is of the utmost importance.”

Miss World officially opens the Sanya Sea Festival!

Following the opening ceremony and unveiling of the Blue Project, the girls were then treated to a fabulous showcase of the most incredible yachts. The girls had the chance to go on board and mingle in the most luxurious environment and feel like A-list stars for the day. With all the girls so comfortable in front of the camera and already so prepared for the celebrity lifestyle, it’s getting harder and harder to pick a winner! Is there such thing as a 116-way tie?
