Miss France 2013: beauty reigns supreme!
In recent times we have been seeing some beauty pageants forgeting about a basic element when crowning their winners: BEAUTY! But not France. The recently elected Miss France is nothing but SPECTACULAR, and shall be a front-runner in Miss World 2013, to be held in Bali, Indonesia, next September. Marine Lorphelin, 19, from Bourgogne, edged out other 32 beauties from French departments to become Miss France 2013.
Nearly 10 million people watched the live telecast of the French national beauty pageant. Miss France remains one of the most watched television shows in France. The tv special was 3 hours long and the winner was declared 5 minutes past midnight (it started at 9 PM).
Marine is a student of Medice from the city of Charnay-lès-Mâcon. I dedicate this to my grandmother, who passed away last year and dreamed of seeing me competing in Miss France one day. Now I am Miss France, she declared.
Miss Tahiti placed 2nd, Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais 3rd, Miss Martinique 4th, and Miss Pays de Loire 5th. Beautiful Miss Tahiti was another stunner popular with the crowd. Some fans tweeted that Tahiti lost for political reasons, however, truth is that both had enough beauty to win. What a dispute!
The new Miss France is expected to compete in Miss World and perhaps in Miss Universe 2013 as well (if Miss Universes dates do not collapse with Miss Frances, as it happened this year).
