One of the pageant sensations of the 2000’s is finally back: Miss Tourism Queen International. Not as big as it was in its Grand Slam years, MTQI has finally returned to life and has recently kicked off in Pingyang, a district of Wenzhou, China.

Pingyang is a very friendly city with an unique landscape. It is surrounded by mountains and it faces the East China Sea.

Due to its proximity to the ocean, this year’s contestants will most likely indulge in a variety of seafood dishes as it seems to be one of their specialities. The contestants are staying at the best hotel in town, the Wenzhou Sanhe Hotel.

Miss China 2036?

The first girls started arriving last Monday, October 26th, and as usual, the first few days are more relexaed. The beauties have been spending most of their time getting to know each other, walking around the city, shating meals at the hotel and of course, doing some shopping!

Once the pageant officially starts on the 30th, their daily schedule will be extremely busy between tours, rehearsals, official ceremonies, photo shoots and luckily a few hours of sleep each night.

Besides a couple of common missteps (like Miss Nepal having to do an emergency landing on her way to China, and Miss Bulgaria not getting her luggage) everything has been running smoothly and the candidates are getting very excited about the competition.

We will bring you all the details and exclusive photos until November 9th, when Miss Tourism Queen International 2015, the first since 2012, will finally be crowned.

Stay tuned and follow our coverage!
