Miss World 2014 Finland takes gold in sports!
Miss Worlds sports challenge has come to a conclusion with a happy end for Finland, who took the gold medal and added some precious points to her account. Miss Hungary was 2nd and Miss South Africa, the preliminary sports leader, earned the bronze medal in 3rd place. 32 Sports Finalists competed in both individual and team challenges. The event was hosted by the Lee Valley Athletic Centre. Miss World contestants certainly held their own and exceeded expectations. On the first heat of sprints, it was a close race between Finland and Cote dIvoire, by just milliseconds Cote DIvoire was the winner of the first heat and the winner of the sprints overall. The long jump was slightly more foreign to most of the contestants, but once again team spirit kicked in as the experienced jumpers showed the inexperienced how it was done. Here Finland found herself in another close battle with South Africa in their heat of jumps, but South Africa jumped a little further. However, it was Hungary who claimed the top spot in this event. The final individual sports challenge had the girls completing the dreaded bleep test, a race to beat the bleep while doing shuttle runs. Finland came 2nd once again, to South Africa in their heat, and Hungary won her heat. But this time, South Africa claimed it as the winner of this infamous challenge. In the team competition, the girls in yellow took gold! Regardless of who won or lost, it was a day filled with Fair Play and fun, the true spirit of Miss World. Congratulations to all winners!!
