Miss World 2012: Contestants see Shanghai sights on river cruise
Contestants see Shanghai sights on river cruise 25 July 2012 Today, there was change in the air as the Miss World festival upped-sticks and relocated to the balmy city of Shanghai. No sooner had the plane touched down than the contestants were whisked away to their new hotel to prepare for a spectacular welcome to the city a dinner cruise down the famous Bund stretch of the Huangpu River. As darkness fell, the ladies embarked on a boat festooned with lights. The most exciting sights in Shanghai glittered across the water as surely the most glamorous vessel in the city sailed gently downstream. After a delicious spread of local delicacies, the contestants were photographed as the boat passed in front of iconic landmarks such as the Jin Mao Observatory (the highest observation deck in mainland China), the Shanghai World Financial Centre (one of the tallest buildings in the world) and the positively space-age Oriental Pearl Television Tower. It turned out to be a wonderful evening and as starry an introduction to Shanghai as Miss World could have hoped for. Stay tuned for more news from Miss World 2012.
