MISS PANAMA 2011
PANAMA CITY, May 26 – Sheldry Nazareth Sáez, a 19-year old student of marketing from Herrera, Chitré, was crowned Miss Universe Panama 2011 during the Miss Panama pageant held May 26th at the Anayansi Theatre in the ATLAPA Convention Center.
Sáez, who also works as a professional model, stands 1.71 m tall and will represent Panama during the upcoming Miss Universe competition to take place in Sao Paulo, Brazil, next September.
Crowned as Miss World Panama was 23-year old Irene del Carmen Núñez, who represented Veraguas. Irene stands 1.73 m tall and holds a degree in Hospitality administration. She will compete at the Miss World 2011 pageant to be held in London, UK, in November.
The 1st runner-up or “virreina” was Keity Mendieta Britton, Miss Panamá Centro. Completing the top 5 were Miss Bocas del Toro (Marielena González), Miss Los Santos (Marisel Medina) and Miss Panamá Este, Jelenska García.
