Asia-based beauty competition travels abroad for the first time

BANGKOK, April 6 — Mr. Nawat Itsaragrisil, President and founder of Miss Grand International, announced on Wednesday that the 4th edition of the competition, Miss Grand International 2016, will be held at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino on Tuesday, October 25th.

Reigning titleholder Claire Parker from Australia will crown her successor among 80 beauties from all over the globe who will gather in Las Vegas during a period of three weeks to participate in pre-pageant activities, as well as photo and video shooting, rehearsals and of course, the final gala.

The Westgate hotel opened in 1969 as the International Hotel, and was known for many years as the Las Vegas Hilton, then briefly as the LVH – Las Vegas Hotel and Casino. It was renamed the Westgate Las Vegas on July 1, 2014. The hotel is 30 stories tall with a height of 114.30 meter / 375.00 feet. Located on 64 acres (26 ha), it has a 74,000 square feet (6,900 m2) casino and is also home to the largest sports book in Las Vegas. The hotel is located next to the Las Vegas Convention Center and has its own 200,000 sq ft (19,000 m2) convention center, and a station along the Las Vegas Monorail.
