Miss World Tour - Russia
Elmira Abdrazakov has been crowned the national winner in Russia for 2013, with Miss World Wenxia Yu & Miss Universe Olivia Culpo meeting for the first time as they took their place on the official jury. The last time this happened was once again in Russia when reigning Miss World Ksenia Sukhinova passed on her Russian crown, with Dayana Mendoza (Universe 2008) invited to the finals that year.
Wenxia joined the jury in making the tough decisions during the final, whittling down the competitors to find the eventual winner.
Miss World CEO Julia Morley also met Miss Universe President Paula Shugart at an informal gathering before this years Russian Final, another rare occurrence.
Returning to the events of the night, 18 year old Elmira beat the remaining 49 contestants at the 21st edition of the competition, held at the Concert Hall Barvikha Luxury Village in Moscow, to claim the title. A student at the Siberian Railway University from Mezhdurechensk, she will receive $100,000, a car and the opportunity to represent her country at the Miss World Final to be held in Indonesia this September.
Speaking after her victory, Elmira said the most difficult part of the competition was walking in heels.
Irina Tumanova from Kalmykia picked up the public favourite after receiving the greatest number of online votes, and also claimed second runner-up, with Anastasia Yazykova taking first runner-up.
