MTQ's dates and the launching of a new pageant take place in a press conference in China
Suzhou, CHINA - During a press conference and presentation with Olga Zarubina (MTQI 2007) and some of last year's MTQ's finalists and continental queens, like Vasana Wongbuntree (Miss Thailand and 1st runner-up), Tamara Almeida (Miss Fernando de Noronha and 2nd runner-up), and Oyungerel Gankhuyag (Miss Mongolia and Queen of Asia), it was announced that Miss Tourism Queen International 2008 will take place in Zhengzhou on April 12. Contestants from 120 countries, territories and islands of tourist interest, are expected to compete.
Miss Tourism Queen Int'l will be the first 'Grand Slam' pageant of 2008 to take place. You can visit the revamped MTQ's official website and meet some of the first confirmed delegates of 2008.
It was also announced that a new pageant will be launched in 2008: Miss Leisure World.

The Miss Leisure World 2008 contest will be held for the first time in Suzhou, China known as the Oriental Venice, from 15th to the 30th June 2008. This is a spin-off and sister pageant of Miss Tourism Queen International 2008. Over 75 countries will be invited to Suzhou, China this summer to experience the beautiful gardens and silk city of Suzhou which mover 2,500 years old has a rich silk culture and is often referred to as the Arts City of China. During these two weeks, the contestants will visit beautiful tourist sites and silk factories and taste the delicious Chinese culinary which Suzhou has to offer.
The World Finals will be televised to 1.3 billion people, and the winner will receive a USD 10.000-cash prize.
