กรีนพีซเชิญร่วมประกวดภาพถ่ายในหัวข้อ“วิกฤตน้ำ วิกฤตชีวิต” (UPDATED VERSION)

กรีนพีซ องค์กรรณรงค์ด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม และสมาคมถ่ายภาพแห่งประเทศไทยในพระบรมราชูปถัมภ์ ขอเชิญชวนทุกท่านที่สนใจ ร่วมเป็นส่วนหนึ่งในกิจกรรมรณรงค์แก้ไขปัญหาสิ่งแวดล้อมในประเทศไทย โดยส่งภาพถ่ายเข้าประกวดภายใต้หัวข้อ "วิกฤตน้ำ วิกฤตชีวิต"
วัตถุประสงค์
1. ส่งเสริมให้ประชาชนตระหนักถึงปัญหามลพิษทางน้ำที่มีผลกระทบต่อมนุษย์และสิ่งแวดล้อม
2. สนับสนุนให้ประชาชนได้มีส่วนร่วมในการถ่ายทอดปัญหามลพิษทางน้ำและผลกระทบที่เกิดจากกิจกรรมของมนุษย์
3. กระตุ้นให้เกิดจิตสำนึกและรับผิดชอบต่อการก่อปัญหามลพิษทางน้ำ
4. เพื่อนำผลงานต่างๆที่ได้รับคัดเลือกไปจัดแสดง รวมถึงกิจกรรมรณรงค์ต่างๆที่เกี่ยวข้อง
การประกวดภาพถ่าย
ในหัวข้อ “วิกฤตน้ำ วิกฤตชีวิต” ลักษณะของภาพถ่ายจะต้องสะท้อนให้เห็นถึงวิกฤตปัญหาของแหล่งน้ำกินน้ำใช้หรือแหล่งน้ำธรรมชาติที่ถูกกระทำย่ำยีโดยกิจกรรมมนุษย์ เช่น โรงงานอุตสาหกรรมต่างๆที่ขาดความรับผิดชอบ จนส่งผลกระทบต่อวิถีชีวิตคนหรือสิ่งมีชีวิตอื่นๆและสิ่งแวดล้อม นอกจากนั้นภาพถ่ายที่นำเสนอยังสามารถขึ้นอยู่กับมุมมองของผู้ถ่ายที่ต้องการถ่ายทอดเรื่องราวในลักษณะอื่นๆ หรือนำเสนอเป็นเชิงสัญลักษณ์ที่สามารถสื่อถึงหัวข้อประกวดได้ โดยทุกเหตุการณ์ที่บันทึกภาพจะต้องเกิดขึ้นในประเทศไทยเท่านั้น

ประเภทของภาพถ่าย
ภาพถ่ายฟิล์มสี-ฟิล์มขาวดำ, Digital
ผู้มีสิทธิ์ส่งภาพเข้าประกวด
ประชาชนคนไทยทั่วไปและชาวต่างชาติที่พำนักในประเทศไทย
เงื่อนไขข้อกำหนดในการส่งภาพภาพถ่ายเข้าประกวด
1. ภาพถ่ายที่ส่งเข้าประกวดสามารถถ่ายภาพโดยใช้ได้ทั้งกล้องบรรจุฟิล์มและกล้องดิจิตอล
2. ภาพถ่ายที่ส่งเข้าประกวดเป็นภาพสี-ขาวดำ ขนาดของภาพ 10x12 นิ้ว บวก-ลบได้ไม่เกิน 2 นิ้ว (ภาพที่เกินกว่าขนาดที่กำหนดจะไม่ได้รับการพิจารณาตัดสิน) พร้อมทั้งส่งฟิล์มหรือ Digital File Jpeg Large ที่มีคุณสมบัติ High Resolution ไม่ต่ำกว่า dpi โดยบันทึกลงแผ่นซีดี มาพร้อมภาพถ่ายผลงานที่เข้าร่วมประกวด และฟิล์มหรือแผ่นซีดีจะตกเป็นกรรมสิทธิ์ของกรีนพีซ 300
3. ต้องเป็นภาพที่ถ่ายระหว่างวันที่ 1 มกราคม 2550 - 30 พฤศจิกายน 2550
4. ภาพถ่ายที่ส่งเข้าประกวด ห้ามตกแต่งภาพจนเกินจากความเป็นจริง
5. ส่งผลงานภาพถ่ายเข้าประกวดได้ท่านละไม่เกิน 10 ภาพ (ไม่ต้องติดการ์ดและกรอบใดๆทั้งสิ้น)
6. ภาพถ่ายที่ส่งเข้าประกวด ผู้ส่งจะต้องเขียนชื่อภาพ ชื่อสถานที่ในภาพ ชื่อ นามสกุล ที่อยู่ของผู้ส่งภาพถ่ายเข้าประกวดอย่างชัดเจนในใบสมัครที่กำหนด และผู้ส่งภาพถ่ายเข้าประกวดจะต้องเป็นผู้ถ่ายภาพที่ส่งเข้าประกวดด้วยตนเอง
7. ภาพถ่ายที่ส่งเข้าประกวด กรีนพีซมีสิทธิ์คัดเลือกนำไปจัดแสดงในที่ต่างๆ และมีสิทธิ์ในการจัดพิมพ์เผยแพร่ผลงานในสูจิบัตร เอกสารสิ่งพิมพ์ รวมทั้งสารสนเทศทุกประเภทและกิจกรรมรณรงค์ต่างๆ
หลักเกณฑ์การพิจารณาคัดเลือกและตัดสินภาพถ่าย
คณะกรรมการตัดสินภาพจะพิจารณาจากคุณค่าของผลงานเป็นหลัก คณะกรรมการมีสิทธิ์กำหนดวิธีการตัดสิน การตัดสินของคณะกรรมการคัดเลือกและตัดสินจะพิจารณาคัดเลือกเฉพาะผลงานที่มีคุณภาพเหมาะสมเข้าร่วมแสดง

Photo Contest: “Endangered Water, Endangered Lives”
Greenpeace Southeast Asia, in collaboration with the Royal Photographic Society of Thailand under the Royal Patronage of H.M. the King, hosts a photo contest to bring people together to celebrate and protect our important freshwater sources. The theme of the photo contest is: “Endangered Water, Endangered Lives” Submission of entries: September 21 to November 31, 2007
The Photo Contest
Under the Title “Endangered Water, Endangered Lives”, the photographs must feature freshwater and freshwater sources in Thailand, taken from January 1, 2007 to November 31, 2007. Examples are lakes, rivers, streams, springs, tap water, etc. Photos should convey how freshwater is important to people / the environment (‘celebrating water’), or how clean water is being threatened by sources of pollution (‘water at threat’). Marine water (seas, oceans) are not considered.

Photo Contest Guidelines
1. Who may join: The competition is open to all photographers, photojournalists, and photo enthusiasts who are residents of Thailand except for staff of Greenpeace Southeast Asia and relatives of up to the 1st degree of consanguinity.
1.1 Entrants under 18 years of age will be required to submit a waiver signed by the entrant’s legal guardian.
2. Theme:
- Celebrating Thailand fresh waters (rivers, lakes, aquifers, springs, and groundwater sources, etc) and looking at the threats
3. All entries should have been taken within Thailand from January 1, 2007 to November 31, 2007.
4. Entries should be taken with any camera using at least 35 mm film or a digital camera.
4.1 For digital photos, entries should be taken with at least a 3 Mega Pixel digital camera at the highest setting. Submitted entries should be in JPEG format (jpg or jpeg), 1200 pixels on the longest side, with at least 300 dpi resolution.
Entrants will be asked to submit the original file for the exhibit after the judges have made their decisions.

4.1.1 The file name of the entry should follow the following format: Initials of the entrant (first name, middle name, last name) [dash] entry number depending on how many entries are being submitted [dash] date in (ddmmyy format) photo was submitted to contest [dot] jpg
For Example, photos submitted by Ply H. Pirom on September 5, 2007 should have the file names:

4.2 Print entries should be 8R in size and mailed and addressed to:

Not later than the date specified in item 5.
Greenpeace will not be responsible for prints damaged during postage/delivery.
4.3 There should be no markings (names, logo, or any writing) on photo entries.
5. Deadline for submission of all entries is November 31, 2007. All email entries received after midnight of September 28 and all print entries received by the Greenpeace office after 5:00pm of November 31, 2007, will not be accepted.
Greenpeace is not responsible for any postal or technical delay.
6. Only complete entries will be considered.
6.1 A complete entry for a digital photo submitted via email is as follows:
- entry form
- photo entry in the required parameters (see item 3.1)
- waiver for minors, if applicable
6.2 A complete print entry is as follows:
- entry form
- 8R print
- waiver for minors, if applicable
7. Images must not have been altered / enhanced in any way other than simple cropping. Any alteration or enhancement made (aside from cropping) would mean disqualification of the entry.
8. Photographs that include sculptures, statues, paintings, and other works of art will be accepted as long as they do not constitute copyright infringement or fraud; provided that entrants provide a release form as described below in “Releases.” When photographing the work of others, it must be as an object in its environment and not a full-frame close up of another person’s art.
9. Photographs that include other persons will be accepted, provided that entrants submit a release form as described below in “Releases.”
10. Each entrant can send as many as five (10) entries but can only win once.
11. Entries must be exclusive to this contest, unpublished, and must not have been submitted as an entry in previous contests. By entering the contest, entrant represents, acknowledges and warrants that the submitted photograph is an original work created solely by the entrant and that no other party has any right, title, claim or interest in the photograph.
12. The Board of judges will be composed of respected photo journalists, as well as Greenpeace Southeast Asia’s Campaigns Director, and Greenpeace International’s Photo Chief.
13. Criteria for judging is as follows:
Relevance to the theme- 50%
Technical Excellence-25%
Visual Impact and Creativity-25%
14. Prizes are as follows:
First prize: THB 30,000.00 with a certificate
Second prize: THB 20,000.00 with a certificate
Third prize: THB 10,000.00 with a certificate
Consolation Prizes: 10 prizes; THB 4,000 each with a certificate
14.1 Winners will be announced and prizes awarded on December 7, 2007.
14.2 Prizes not claimed within 30 days after the awarding ceremonies shall be forfeited.
15. By participating, the entrant shall grant to Greenpeace SEA Environmental Trust Inc. (Greenpeace)
- right to use the photo in all Greenpeace campaign and organizational materials (captioned (c)photographer).
- right to distribute the photo as part of Greenpeace's media releases (captioned (c)photographer/Greenpeace handout)
- both above rights for the period of three or for the duration of our water project
Entrant further grants Greenpeace the rights to use the photo beyond the period specified above in campaign and organizational materials (but not for distribution) so long as the use of the photo pertains to the water project and the caption shall additionally read "this photo was [an entry/winner] in the Greenpeace water project photo contest held in December 2007.
The rights granted to Greenpeace SEA Environmental Trust, Inc. shall also be granted to its global licensing intermediary Greenpeace International BV.
16. By joining this contest, entrants agree
(a) to be bound by these official rules
(b) that the decisions of the judges are final on all matters relating to the contest. All national and local taxes, fees and surcharges on prizes are the sole responsibility of the prize winners. In the event that the selected winner(s) of any prize are/is ineligible or refuses the prize, the prize will be forfeited and Greenpeace, in its sole discretion, may choose whether to award the prize to another winner.
17. Greenpeace reserves the right to disqualify entries, or to forfeit the prize for a winning entry, that
-have been altered/enhanced in any way other than simple cropping
-are obscene or contain objectionable content as determined by Greenpeace
-are not original
-are illegible, incomplete, damaged, irregular, altered, and/ or counterfeit
-have been produced through fraud
-have been obtained through theft
or entries whose details have been misrepresented in the entry form.
