(formally) This is an expression that we Americans use a lot as part of our greeting. Because we say this expression so often, we sometimes say it to our friends and acquaintances without really meaning it. We say it just to be polite without even paying much attention to how they look. You really need to use an appropriate tone of voice and show an appropriate level of excitement when saying the expression to sound truthful. Even for Americans, this sometimes can be very tricky. I am going to demonstrate how to say that expression in four different ways: sincerely, deceptively, condescendingly, and flirtatiously. Please pay close attention to my facial expressions, tones of voice, and inflections.
