เมื่อวันที่ 20 ตุลาคม 2564 กงสุลใหญ่ฟาบีโอ จินดา พร้อมด้วยคุณมณีวรงค์ จินดา ภริยา และกงสุลอธิคม แดงพันธ์ได้เยี่ยมชมห้องปฏิบัติการของ EpiBone สตาร์ทอัพในนิวยอร์ก โดยมี ดร. สารินทร์ ภูมิรัตน หนึ่งในผู้ก่อตั้งให้การต้อนรับและบรรยายสรุปให้ฟัง EpiBone เป็นสตาร์ทอัพที่ได้รับการจับตามองระดับโลกในแวดวงการรักษาความเจ็บป่วยของมนุษย์ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการเปลี่ยนชิ้นกระดูกที่ผิดปกติ เสื่อม หรือแตกหัก อาทิ กระดูกบนใบหน้าโดย EpiBone ได้คิดค้นวิธีการเพาะเลี้ยงสเต็มเซลล์และควบคุมรูปร่างให้เหมือนกระดูกชิ้นที่จะเปลี่ยนให้มากที่สุด ทำให้สามารถนำมาใช้ทดแทนกระดูกชิ้นที่ต้องการเปลี่ยนได้โดยไม่ต้องนำกระดูกชิ้นอื่นจากร่างกายของผู้ป่วยหรือรับบริจาคกระดูกจากผู้อื่นมาใช้แทน ซึ่งช่วยให้การรักษาได้ผลดีและคงทนยิ่งขึ้น นอกจากนี้ บริษัทยังอยู่ระหว่างการขยายนวัตกรรมไปในด้านอื่น ๆ ด้วย เช่น การซ่อมแซมกระดูกอ่อน และเวชศาสตร์การกีฬา สถานกงสุลใหญ่ฯ ขอชื่นชมผลงานที่เป็นประโยชน์ต่อสังคมของ EpiBone และโดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่ง ความอุตสาหะและความสำเร็จของ ดร. สารินทร์ คนไทยที่มีส่วนร่วมสำคัญในนวัตกรรมเหล่านี้ On 20 October 2021, Consul General Fabio Chinda, along with Mrs. Maneevarong Chinda, his spouse, and Consul Athikom Daengpun visited EpiBone, a startup in New York, at which Dr. Sarindr Bhumiratana, one of the co-founders, gave a warm welcome and provided the group a briefing. EpiBone, a clinical-stage startup, has been in the global limelight, especially in sectors relating to replacement of human bones due to bone anomalies, deterioration, or fracture. It applies stem cells nourishment technology, along with innovative equipment for crafting cells to be grown into the actual bone form and making it ready to be used for the replacement. Disregarding the conventional ways of cutting a bone from other part of a patient’s body or a donor’s for the replacement, this method optimizes the cure and ensures the more enduring result. The company is also expanding its innovation toward treatment in other medical areas such as cartilage repair and sports medicine. The Royal Thai Consulate General admires this significant work of EpiBone, and in particular the dedication and the achievement of Dr. Bhumiratana, a Thai national, who has been one of the main contributors to this innovation.
