Everyone knows Hermes's connection with horses and so today's venue, the Garde Republicaine in the centre of Paris, seemed like an apt setting for Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski's debut collection for the luxury house, taking over from Christophe Lemaire last autumn.

             With the scent of horses all around, guests made their way into the vaulted space taking their seats on roomy cedar wood plinths. The designer, who cut her teeth at The Row stuck to the horsey theme. Red striped double-faced cashmere blanket coats with quilted under layers looked like the sort of thing well to do equestrians might bundle up their horses with, while deep pockets on quilted russet leather coats were shaped like swooping saddle bags. It was a theme that extended to hair accoutrement too, with sparkling bridal headpieces, and necklaces.
