able to, can, could (ง่ายๆ ชัดๆ)

able to นั้นมีความหมายเหมือน can เราสามารถเขียนได้ว่า
I can play football.
หรือ
I am able to play football.
แต่อย่างหลังนี่เราไม่ค่อยจะได้เห็นกันเท่าไหร่ คือ able to จะไม่นิยมนำมาใช้ใน Present simple tense
ใน Future tense เราใช้ will/won't be able to
ตัวอย่างเช่น
I'll be able to meet you tomorrow.
I won't be able to meet you tomorrow.
Will I be able to meet you tomorrow?
ใน Perfect tense เราใช้ have(n't)/has(n't) been able to
ตัวอย่างเช่น
I've been able to do a lot of job today.
I haven't been able to do a lot of job today.
Have you been able to do a lot of job today?
ใน Past tense เราใช้ was(n't)/were(n't) able to หรือ could(n't) ก็ได้
ตัวอย่างเช่น
I wasn't able to buy tickets for the football match.
หรือ
I couldn't buy tickets for the football match.
แต่ was/were able to และ could จะใช้แตกต่างกันนิดหน่อยคือ
เราใช้ was/were able to ในกรณีที่ต้องการสื่อถึงความสามารถในการจัดการ managed to do sth
และ
ใช้ could ในกรณีที่ต้องการสื่อถึงความสามารถที่เป็นทักษะ ability or skill
I was able to buy tickets for the concert (การจัดการ managed to ...)
ชั้นสามารถซื้อตั๋วคอนเสิร์ตได้
Were you able to speak to your girlfriend yesterday?
คุณได้มีโอกาสคุยกับแฟนคุณหรือยังเมื่อวานนี้?
I could play piano since I was 6 (ทักษะ ability or skill).
