- People in Thailand urgently need to help control the breeding of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, which transmits the Zika virus, Department of Diesease Control chief Dr. Annual G. Said yesterday.
Thailand is one of the countries with confirmed cases of local (autochthonous) vector-borne transmissions of Zika virus in the past three months.
- Police have gathered evidence so an international arrest warrant can be issued for Russian man believed to have stolen cash from many ATMs in Thailand, including Bangkok, Phuket, and other provinces.
- Singapore sprays residential areas as Zika scare escalates.
- President Rodrigo Duterte yesterday personally pleaded to the Chinese ambassador to the Phillipine to allow Fillipino fisherman to fish over the disputed West Philippine Sea.
