Candidates who will clearly be fighting for the crown
ARGENTINA GUYANA MEXICO THAILAND
If logic applies, and remember, mostly it does not in this pageant, one of these 4 women should walk away with the crown. Mexico has been a front-runner from the very beginning. Everyone in Japan seems to love her and it looks like she is on the right path to her countrys 3rd Miss International title. Argentina is all you would expect the Japanese to go for in a winner: tall, with very white skin, light blue eyes, charming, poised, sweet at all times. Shes perfect for the crown, even give Argentina poor record in pageaants since the 1980s.Thailand was very close to its first crown in 2010, when its representative placed 2nd. This one is even more beautiful and could finally reach to the top. Guyana? Really? But isnt Miss International known for being racist? Well, we know its a long shot, but Guyana appears here because she deserves so. Perhaps its a good chance for Miss International to shut us all, to prove it has changed its perception of black women and their amazing beauty. Wouldnt it be awesome?
Candidates who can easily be among the finalists or semi-finalists and even pull a surprise and take it all
BELARUS BRAZIL COLOMBIA FINLAND INDIA INDONESIA ISRAEL MONGOLIA NETHERLANDS PERU PHILIPPINES UNITED KINGDOM VENEZUELA
This is an interesting and diverse group. Lets take Venezuela, for instance. Tomorrow, if she wins, it will be no surprise. However, if shes not even in the Top 10, we wont be shocked either, agree? The same goes for the Philippines, trying this Tuesday for the first time ever a back-to-back victory in MI and its 6th title. Its candidate falls into the exact same category as Venezuela, but carrying a world of responsibility on her shoulders. Peru, on the other hand, shows less tradition and more beauty. We would love to see her shinning. India will try her first title, Finland is always dangerous competing in Miss International, and this one proved to be no exception. Belarus and Netherlands are very elegant and pretty much within what the Japanese appreciate in beauty queens. Mongolia and UK grew day after day and might pull a surprise tomorrow. Brazil, Colombia, Indonesia, Israel, have alternated good and bad moments. Of these 13 women, 5 or 6 should advance. Eye on every and each one of them.
Good candidates who deserve to be observed. A couple of surprises could come out of this group
BELGIUM DOMINICAN REPUBLIC EGYPT FRANCE GABON GIBRALTAR HAITI KOREA MACAU MALAYSIA MYANMAR NORWAY PANAMA PARAGUAY POLAND RUSSIA SLOVAKIA SRI LANKA SWEDEN TURKEY UKRAINE UNITED STATES
Neither favorites, nor underdogs, these women stand right in the middle of these two groups. A couple of surprises could easily come out of here, mostly France, Korea (cute + sash factor), Macau (pleasant surprise), Poland, Russia (a style that sometimes does well in MI), Ukraine. We would love to see Egypt up there, what a great candidate!
Long shots
But, we never know
ARMENIA ARUBA AUSTRALIA BOLIVIA CANADA CHINA CUBA ECUADOR EL SALVADOR ESTONIA GEORGIA GERMANY HONDURAS HONG KONG ITALY HUNGARY JAPAN LEBANON NEPAL PORTUGAL PUERTO RICO ROMANIA SERBIA SINGAPORE SPAIN TAIWAN VIETNAM ZAMBIA
You may be thinking: are you nuts, GB?? Japan in this group?? Yeah, we may be nuts. Following the same line of thought when placing Miss Guyana among the 4 heavy favorites for the title this year, we hope MI judges will be fair and Japan wont place. She can be cute, sweet, lovely, great hostess, but this about beauty on the top of it all, isnt it? So she does not belong in any top. Same goes for Spain, usually loved by the Japanese. Not this one, very weak indeed.
Come on, no comment needed here
CHILE CURAÇAO GUATEMALA MAURITIUS NEW ZEALAND NICARAGUA
These are candidates not up to the Grand Slam standard.
The second Grand Slam pageant of the year resumes tomorrow, so whatever happens, we wish them all the best of luck. Enjoy the show!!
